Charity Tea Party @ M'sian Tourism Centre n Just a little update...

it's a backdated pic...a party we went months ago. Mika was clowning around...with the clowns! had yummy satay n popiah. wonder when is the next party there again...

...and the update

Mika sat for the 1st term exam before the school holidays started. his very first exam! i didnt do any revision with him. actually i did it on purpose. so i was stress-free n kinda relax-ed and so was Mika!!...even when exam days were drawing near! i wanted to know how much he absorbed in class. did he pay attention when lessons are on. the result?? he did fairly well...that's to my expectation anyway! except for maths. it's ok with me if he doesnt get all As. he did a good job on his own. for maths he got 70%. careless for not reading the question. didnt follow the instruction. or maybe i did not get him any workbooks to practice on regularly. he was completely wrong on one part (the more or less thing) and there goes the marks! scored 82% for bahasa (paper was kinda easy peasy but some words like buluh, teko, pagar... he hardly knows!!) 88% for science n 100% for english. maybe for his next exam, i got to do a bit of revision with him. more toughie papers for sure. i find bahasa for std 1 is very difficult now. even for my malay friends. why? does it actually help in future? anyways, must get him to do workpapers regularly to get him use to the test format n revise on what he has learnt. i hardly sit with him for revision after school. i only do the weekly ejaan n spelling. just asking him every morning when i'm driving him to school. maybe it's time not to be lazy too. i need a lot of patience. which i dont have. and there goes the shouting! that's for sure! *big big sigh* by the way, tuition is still a no for him n me. he doesnt need that...yet!

he's getting along great at school...and still loves football. it's just football now. twice a week. no wushu. no taekwando.

everything is fine...even it's so routine...

and one good news is...he has no problem sleeping over at my sis now. did that a few times already. no more longing for me at bedtime. noticeably lesser separation anxiety. maybe he's older now. no more crying. no more endless phone calls. but he makes sure i call n say goodnite. infact he enjoys his sleepovers even more now. no more sleepless nites like previous sleepovers. am happy. eventho i miss him so much when he's not at home 24/7. needless to say, i love the alone time too. or hanging out with friends. feels great n free. so therapeutic. Mika is much more independant now. he even asks me whether i'll be alright alone if he goes over to my sis. my little darling...a baby no more! BUT...he's forever my baby!

got to run...time to pick my little darling home from school. Tata for now.

Elly, am amazed how you can be so relax, haha!! I think most mums would be "kan cheong" like mad when they kids are going to sit for exams...but indeed it is good to let the kids to take up the responsibility and study by themselves. No use pushing them over the limit, i think :)

Hi Elly, how r u ?? Long time no see and no hear from u.

Well done Mika. Sometime kids if push them too hard, they will get more stress and end up won't do good in the exam. Don't u think so?
