After a bedtime story last nite, Mika said excitedly...mummy, I can do anything I like tomorrow, I am the boss cos it's children's day...I cant wait...it's MY day! As usual, dont want to spoil his mood...I want him to sleep on his own(still trying!)...I said...yeah..it's your day...so sleep now n wakey wakey early to enjoy your day ok! Goodnite.
Surprisingly...he woke up before the beep-beep clock beeps...in contrast to normal school days! Today, there's children's day celebration at school...got up in a jolly mood n could hardly conceal his excitement! And there's a special guest to make it more fun...he's Ronald from McDonalds!! He brought along...no not hamburglar or grimace but egg Mcmuffins, milk n ribena for the kids! Apart from that, Mika had heaps of junk food as well...cant hide from me...chocolates n sweet stains & teeny tiny leftover mamee snack sticking on to his shirt! Really a 'party' for him. He also took home a gift, a box of Faber Castell colour pencils from the school...a nice idea, so much better than bringing home a bag full of junk food...which I dont like! Agree with me?
Lazy me lazy to cook today. We had a light lunch at O'briens, GE mall. Mika ordered c'ken mayo n crispy bacon toasted sandwich, me a nicoise salad n my must-have, the latte. To continue celebrating his day(I wasnt so nice to him for the past 2days...a lot of things running in my head! pity my boy...so got to make up), we joined in the fun at Funtasia Kids Carnival at the concourse. Mika tried his luck on the giant snake n ladder game...boo hoo, didnt win. He happily redeemed some stickers with the points he got from some good shots at the games booth. It kept him busy n happy for a good one hour. We'll be back for the amazing trail hunt n superheroes dress-up tomorrow. Ha ha ha...to get more n more free gifts!
On the way home, I told him children's day ends at 3pm! To cut his being the boss for the day shorter! ha ha ha. After a bubble bath...yes another fun treat only on special days, he took a nap. All his big n small dinosaurs went into the tub with him to have a bubblelous time n a good scrub!
So, when he gets up from his nap afterwards...it's back to mummy rules! Nevertheless, a great day for him...when he's happy, I'm happy!
By the way...is today children's day?
